Kindle app all of my downloads are gone

My next step is to try the first thing that you mentioned, which is avoiding recharging my Fire overnight while it is still on. It's outrageous that Amazon has not fixed this problem yet.

And I'm really surprised that no tech-savvy person out there has devised some way to protect ebooks from disappearing. I don't know, somehow locking the file, or putting it in some sort of protected sub folder? I'm not a techie, so I'm just guessing. By the way, if I have giving you a low rating, I did not mean to.

One red star appeared on my screen, and no amount of my touching the screen anywhere in any way will now alter that one red star. Very helpful. I've fixed my issue by adopting the 4th solution in the article. Thank you for your effort. Thank you for being a loyal visitor to our website.

We're appreciated by your trust on our articles. We are so glad to share useful tips with you! Thank you for clear and detailed suggestions. Workaround 1 and 2 helped me. This is one of the most common issues. So, there must be some reason for such an issue. You will notice one thing that those who have installed Google Play store in their Fire tablet have faced this issue.

The reason is, Google Play store and Amazon is not compatible with each other. But, the Fire Tablets are strictly bound by Amazon. Anyways, this issue can be resolved by following some simple tricks.

Considering the conflict between Amazon and the Google Play store is generating such issues, you can follow the method explained here to resolve your issue. So, first, you need to turn off the auto-update option in the play store and then uninstall the Amazon apps from there.

Here is how to do that. This is something that just happened suddenly, I didn't change anything, except download the update for Kindle and the new Apple software for my iPad. I wasn't sure if there could be a connection. And you did try the instructions that I posted in my first post?

If you did and they didn't work, then you made the correct move in contact Amazon support which I think you already said that you did. I'm not sure that there is a connection, but anything is possible. Yes, I already went to Amazon. I was then wondering if I should remove all my devices and try adding them again as new ones. But I'm afraid to try that! You cannot lose purchased books in Amazon. They are always available to download again once you have purchased them.

If you feel safer about it, wait until you here from Amazon support before you do anything else. There is something else that you can try that will not hurt anything or cause you to lose anything either. Close the Kindle app, and reset the iPad. Maybe refreshing the app will let the books download again. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen.

Swipe to get to the Kindle app, and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it. In order to reset the iPad. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen after which time you can release the buttons and let the iPad start up. Thanks for all your suggestions, unfortunately I've tried all of them and it still says nothing is downloaded.

Have you looked in Settings within the Kindle App? You might have to register your iPad again. Or deregister and register it again. It will be quicker to phone Amazon or get them to phone you back as replying to emails can take ages, there will be a 'contact us' button somewhere on your account or under the help section.

Mar 15, AM. This is exactly what I did I had Amazon called me back as a side note, that works very slick! You type in your number and indicate for them to call you right away I'm very impressed. The problem has been solved. I knew all my book purchases were still under my account at Amazon, because I saw them there.
